FlickShare is designed entirely as a decentralized, direct, serverless file-sharing tool. We do not collect, harvest, aggregate, store, or upload any of your files, text transfers, or personal information to cloud servers. All your items remain exclusively on your local storage devices.
- Local Wi-Fi Mode (P2P Socket): High-speed direct link between devices within the same local network router. Your items are transferred directly over local host ports without reaching the internet.
- Remote P2P Mode (WebRTC): A temporary signaling server is used strictly for handshake handshakes to bridge two firewalls. Once connected, files flow directly through secure end-to-end encrypted WebRTC P2P Data Channels. No files are ever saved on signaling nodes.
- Mac/Web Bridge Mode: A temporary, highly secure HTTP web server is executed locally on your laptop. Other local browsers access this address directly. No external relays are involved.
To support our free platform development, FlickShare integrates **Google AdMob** to display non-intrusive advertising banners and interstitial promotions within our mobile applications.
Please take note of the following parameters regarding Google's ad serving:
- Google uses unique device identifiers (such as the **Android Advertising ID** or **iOS IDFA**) and browser cookies to serve personalized or contextually relevant advertisements based on app usage patterns.
- We configure the AdMob SDK with child-safe filtering to comply with GDPR, CCPA, and families-centric safety guidelines. Ads served are rated G/PG and are safe for children.
- You can easily opt out of personalized ad targeting by adjusting the **Ad Settings** in your Google Account or modifying your Android/iOS system level privacy options.

To establish safe cross-device file transfer streams, FlickShare requests access to the following native system permissions:
- Wi-Fi & Network State: Necessary to discover network layouts and hook up peer endpoints.
- Storage Read/Write: Crucial to select files from your directories and commit received folders directly into your local "Downloads" archive.
- Camera Access (Optional): Required solely to instantly establish connections by scanning 4-digit pairing QR codes. We do not store, snap, or transmit visual media.
Because we do not gather, record, or track personal identification fields from any user, FlickShare is fully compliant with COPPA, GDPR Families Policies, and general child safety acts.
